Every Classic cargo is made by hand and made to match individual specifications. Always the ultimate challenge to transform 15 meter of Chromoly steel tubing into the iconic cargo space frame.
Every individual bike has 93 brazing points, 20 tig welds and numerous small details to make it a true work of art. Not only the frameset can be tailored to every client’s individual measurements, also the choice of powder coating, saddle, handlebars and gearing is exactly as you love it.
To guarantee a cargo bike of this outstanding quality, Elian builds them with a small team of professionals and limiting the number of Classic cargo bike builds to 20 unique pieces per year.

But beyond that, itʼs how the bike fits you, your personality, your history and obviously how and where you ride. When you look at your cargobike, you should be desperate to ride it. And when youʼre riding it, you should be desperate to look at it.'

Not just a Cargobike

The Classic Cargo is something different. Over the years we have evolved our preferred suppliers list to make sure we would build bikes for life.  Depending on your needs we will guide you to find the best setup, in basics we work with the following component setups:

 

  • Drive train: Gates Beltdrive in combination with Rohloff 14 speedhub / Gates Beltdrive in combination with a Pinion P1.18 / The derailleur drive 1x12 speed Shimano XT
  • Saddle: Brooks B17 or C17 
  • Cockpit: Ritchey Classic or comp line, silver or black
  • Headset: 1 1/8 aheadset silver or black
  • Brakes: Formula Cura 2-Cargo, 203mm front disk rotor 2.3mm and 180mm rear disk rotor 2.3mm
  • Tires: Schwalbe Marathon plus or pickup.
  • Wheels: 20 inch in front and 26 inch at the rear, Ryde rims and Alpina Spokes.
  • Mudguards: Aluminum hand rolled mudguards with stainless hardware.

High grade steel

Steel, the ideal material for bicycle frames. The Cargobike is made of high grade crmo steel. The chemical composition of this steel, specifying a higher percentage of Chromium, makes it 3 times stronger than a standard grade steel.

E-drive Ready

All our bikes are manual leg powered, however in some assembly setups we offer the possibility to make the bike e-drive ready or provide it with the option of The Neodrives Ebike motor.

The perfect Powdercoat

Finally perhaps the toughest choice of all - the color.

The Cargobike frames are finished using a triple layer of powder coat, which will protect your beloved crmo steel frame for generations!.

In house made steeringhub

Widely regarded as a less ‘jumpy’ more fluid way of steering a motorbike in comparison with a traditional fork set up, it greatly reduces ʻflexʼ when braking. Elian concluded this was literally the way forward for the Cargobike, lowering its center of gravity and reducing weight, especially when combined with the steel ʻspace frameʼ.
